A Grand Opening Night to Remember at The Arc Cinema Preston
The Arc Cinema Preston officially opened its doors in spectacular style with an unforgettable launch night, celebrating not just the arrival of a new cinema, but a true moment for the city.

Film icon and Preston native Nick Park CBE—creator of Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run, and Shaun the Sheep—joined the Mayor of Preston for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony. Outside the cinema, a live orchestra delighted guests with performances of classic movie theme tunes, setting the stage for a night full of film magic.

Hundreds of local residents were welcomed inside for the very first time, where a special Q&A session took place with Nick Park, Wallace & Gromit director Merlin Crossingham, and The Arc Cinema’s Marketing Manager, Mark Gallagher. Fans had the unique opportunity to ask questions before enjoying a screening of Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.
As part of the celebrations, exclusive screenings of Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy and Captain America: Brave New World were shown to lucky competition winners. The evening also saw the long-awaited presentation of the cinema’s social media “Golden Ticket” prize to one excited guest.

Familiar faces from the local community were in attendance, including Spud Bros and Miss Preston, adding to the festive atmosphere.

“It was a truly special evening and a brilliant way to open our doors,” said a cinema General Manager. “To share this moment with the people of Preston, alongside a legend like Nick Park, was something we’ll never forget.”
The Arc Cinema Preston is now officially open, welcoming audiences to experience a new era of comfort, community, and cinema.
