€1,800 Raised for Local GAA Clubs at Cork Cinemas During All-Ireland Final Screenings
Despite heartbreak on the pitch for Cork in Sunday’s All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final, there was reason to celebrate off it, as three Cork cinemas came together to raise a fantastic €1,800 for local GAA clubs.
Supporters packed out special screenings of the big match at The Arc Cinema in Cork City, where the clash with Claire was shown live on the big screen. While the result may not have gone Cork’s way, the atmosphere was electric and the community spirit on full display.
Entry to the screenings was free of charge, but cinemagoers were encouraged to make a €5 donation to secure their seats. The strong turnout and generosity of local fans meant that a total of €1,800 was raised, which will now be donated to three local clubs: St. Finbarr’s GAA (Cork), Clyde Rovers GAA (Mallow), and Midleton GAA.
The Arc Cinema Group has pledged continued support for local sport and community initiatives, with more big-screen events and fundraisers planned throughout the year.
