Running time: 135 mins
This biographical musical drama chronicles the intensely private moment in Bruce Springsteen’s life when he retreated from the commercial climb of his E Street Band era to record his stark, acoustic sixth album, Nebraska (1982). Struggling with sudden fame, personal demons and the weight of expectations, Springsteen (portrayed by Jeremy Allen White) isolates himself in his New Jersey home studio, recording on a four‑track recorder and crafting songs of haunting minimalism that would become a landmark in his career. The story captures the tension between creative freedom and commercial pressure, revealing the quiet rebel behind the myth of “The Boss.” Directed and written by Scott Cooper and based on the 2023 biography Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen's Nebraska by Warren Zanes, the film also features a supporting cast including Jeremy Strong as manager Jon Landau, Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father Doug, Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan, and Odessa Young, Gaby Hoffmann and Marc Maron in key roles.
